Where does USC football go from here, with interim Coach Ed Orgeron? After a week off, the Trojans face Arizona on Thursday, Oct. 10, and then brace for the Oct. 19 trip to Notre Dame. After that it's Utah, Oregon State, Cal, Stanford, Colorado and UCLA.

Arizona State is coming off the 62-41 win over USC that got Lane Kiffin fired and now has a chance to make more news when it plays Notre Dame in Arlington, Texas. No team has ever defeated USC and Notre Dame in consecutive weeks. This will be the 13th attempt.

No. 12 UCLA should be rested and ready for Utah on Thursday as the Bruins emerge from a bye weekend in which the crosstown coach has been fired. Warning: In 2007, UCLA took a No. 11 ranking into Salt Lake City and lost, 44-6.

We never imagined Maryland at Florida State would be a circle-your-calendar game on Oct. 5, but this has become a matchup of undefeated ranked teams. Maryland is 4-0 after a shutout win over West Virginia, which just upset No.11 Oklahoma State.

No. 5 Stanford (4-0) just blasted Washington State in Seattle, but it's the school based in Seattle the Cardinal can't wait to face. Washington brings its 4-0 record and No. 15 ranking to Palo Alto a year after handing Stanford one of its two losses in 2012.
