Parkland School District is buying eight used 2015 school buses from Rohrer Bus of Duncannon to replace some of the school buses that burned in a fire in February.
The fire, of undetermined cause, destroyed 16 buses and damaged others. The total purchase price for the eight used replacement buses was $479,200. Parkland expects to get about $1.2 million in insurance reimbursement for the fire damage.
The school board on Tuesday rejected three bids for 16 new buses because none of the bids met the district specifications, Sniscak said. The district plans to advertise for new bids.
