This year’s Toys for Tots drive officially began October 1st with the placing of Toys for Tots boxes throughout the Middle Peninsula, which includes Gloucester, Matthews, Middlesex, King and Queen and King William counties. You can go to the Toys for Tots web site at www.toysfortots.org to check where the drop off boxes will be. We will be collecting for boys and girls in the following age groups:
- Group I (Newborn – 2 years)
- Group 2 (3 – 5 years)
- Group 3 (6 – 7 years
- Group 4 (8 -11 years
- Group 5 (12 – 17 years)
Last year Middle Peninsula Detachment 1317 collected over 7500 toys and gave to over 1200 needy children. This year the need is even greater. You can contact your local Social Services Department or the Salvation Army if you would like to request a toy.
If you would like to volunteer for Toys for Tots, make a donation, become a drop site or sponsor please contact the Middle Peninsula Coordinator, George Gates at T4T.GLOUVA@gmail.com
Please note that all of the toys collected in the Middle Peninsula are distributed to the needy children where they are collected. The toys donated need to be new and unwrapped.
Christmas is about the joy of giving. Make this a Christmas to remember and a dream come true for every child in the Middle Peninsula.
“Every child deserves a little Christmas.”
