Temperatures not likely to rise above freezing for next couple days

Cold air is going to continue to grip the region over the next couple of days with temperatures not expected to hit the above-freezing mark again until at least Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), temperatures in the West Point area will reach a high near 30 degrees Thursday, Jan. 23. West wind 9 to 14 mph.

Temperatures are expected to drop back down Thursday night to 11 degrees, but it may feel as low as 1 below with the windchill. It's expected to rise only to about 24 degrees on Friday.

The NWS states that temperatures may hit 40 degrees on Saturday, Jan. 25, with a 20% chance of snow.

The cold temperatures will likely help Tuesday night's snowfall linger over the remainder of the week.
