The Rappahannock Industrial Academy Alumni Association is seeking applicants for its annual scholarships. The scholarships are open to African-American students who are residents of Essex, Middlesex, and King and Queen counties or who are graduating seniors in the public high schools of.those counties.

One scholarship in the amount of $1000 will be awarded to a student from each county. The scholarship is renewable for the sophomore year. Eligible applicants must plan to enroll in an accredited two or four-year college or university, or technical school, and must demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and a commitment to serving the community. All students who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply.

The scholarship application deadline for this year is March 4, 2014. Application forms may be obtained from guidance counselors in the schools or from the website of The Community Foundation of Greater Richmond at http://www.tcfrichmond.org.
