To the Editor:
As I write this letter, Americans are struggling to comprehend why our president negotiated with known terrorists in the exchange of one soldier for five top-level terrorists for a soldier that may have neglected his duties to America and his fellow troops and walked away from his post unarmed on more than one occasion.
Congress was left out of the loop and nothing seems to get done in Washington, D.C., except a lot of empty talk amounting to nothing and spending money we do not have and delaying the payment of all of that charged debt until later. At some point the bill must be paid.
We no longer have a space program or vehicles. We depend on Russia to get into space, and Russia is going back to Cold War-era behavior and tactics. Meanwhile, China continues to secretly steal or trade secrets and government information by computer hacking. Our foreign policy is at an all-time low (poor relations).
As all of this goes on, we are told the economy is rebounding. Everyone I speak to tells of higher costs to get by on and less money to do it with.
The rebounding must be in Washington? Wake up, Americans, and speak with your votes. How much more can you afford to give up?
