To the Editor:
I would like to thank the King William Board of Supervisors for taking a stand to protect the environment in King William County and its citizens. The Board wrote a letter to the Virginia Water Control Board opposing the proposed permit to apply treated industrial residuals in our county. Given the past experiences in this county with similar application of bio-solids, it is clear that enough safeguards are not in place to protect our water supplies, waterways, and drinking water. In addition, this permit could allow the application of industrial residuals, not just bio-solids, for a period of ten years. Again, thank you, King William Board of Supervisors, for voicing your opposition to this permit.
