Letter: A great time at Family Fun Day

Relay races brought families together in friendly competition.

To the Editor:

The first annual Family Fun Day, sponsored by the King William Fatherhood Program and King William Social Services, was held on Jan. 11 at the King William Volunteer Fire and Rescue building in Aylett.

The rain did not hinder the well attended event and a great time was had by all.

Games, crafts and face painting kept the crowd energized and information about the Fatherhood support and training classes was shared by Kent Pierce, the Fatherhood Program's Chairman. Door prizes were awarded to many in attendance.

Chris Menrin, VA Tech Extension, was available to talk with parents and children about 4-H clubs and the annual summer camps.

We would like to thank those who donated prizes for this event including Domino's Pizza, Subway, Sweet Frog, Cracker Barrel, Lowe's, VA Tech Extension, Parent Child Development Corporation, Ripley's Family Restaurant.
