NEW KENT – A Henrico juvenile charged with robbing at the Bottom’s Bridge McDonald's will return to New Kent Circuit Court Monday for a pre-trial motion.
Robert James Priester, 16, appeared in New Kent Circuit Court on Jan. 13 on one count of using a firearm to commit a felony and three counts of armed robbery. The case was continued following results from a mental health evaluation ordered by Chesterfield County Court, where he faces other robbery charges.
Priester is set to appear in New Kent Circuit Court on Monday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m.
According to the New Kent Sheriff’s Office, Priester, along with 19-year-olds Shatik Jackson and Cornelius Clayton, Jr., of Henrico, and London Shi-Anne Cotman, of Highland Springs, robbed the Bottom's Bridge McDonald's, located at 2138 Pocahontas Trail in Quinton on Aug. 26, 2013, around 3 a.m.
The suspects reportedly held store personnel at gunpoint and demanded money from the registers. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
The four were arrested on Sept. 27, 2013. They have been linked to as many as 15 restaurant robberies throughout the Richmond area.
Charges against the three adults — Cotman, Clayton, and Jackson — were dropped in New Kent County. Instead, they will be tried at the federal level.
