Indiana man arrested, charged with car break-ins & car fire in Woodhaven Shores

NEW KENT – An Indiana man has been arrested and charged with breaking into cars and starting a car fire in Woodhaven Shores earlier this year.

According to the New Kent Sheriff’s Office, on June 20, Michael James Morgan, II, 19, of Wabash, was extradited to New Kent County on outstanding warrants in relation to the recent rash of vehicle break-ins and vehicle fire in Woodhaven Shores.

Morgan was arrested on June 21 and charged with arson personal property (1996 Ford F-350 pickup truck), grand larceny, vehicle tampering, and two counts of entering a vehicle without having permission.

The sheriff’s office reported that during the investigation, physical evidence, along with tips from the community, helped link Morgan to the crimes.

Morgan was held on a $3,000 secured bond and is set to face New Kent General District Court on June 24.
