West Point engineering student receives NASA scholarship


WEST POINT – 11th grader Destinée Hayden, engineering student of WPHS and a native of West Point was chosen for NASA Aerospace Scholars.

This Scholarship inspires students to pursue degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by experiencing space exploration through an on-line curricula and interacting with scientists and engineers who are involved in aviation and space exploration.

Destinee's aspiration is to be an astrophysicist. She will be majoring in Aerospace Engineering when she graduates.

In her spare time, she loves to write and listen to music, attends ground school classes pursuing her Private Pilot License on weekends, and volunteers for Teen Suicide Hotline on the Web.
