Residential dispute leads to the arrest of two Lanexa men

NEW KENT – A fight between roommates has led to the arrest of two Lanexa men.

Christopher Michael Walls, 28, and Jesse Ray Edwards, 22, of South Waterside Drive, were arrested on Dec. 29 after a fight broke out between the roommates.

As a result of the incident, Walls was charged with malicious wounding and Edwards was charged with assault and battery.

The New Kent Sheriff's Office received an emergency call about a fight in progress at the residence on Dec. 29. When deputies arrived, they found Edwards in the home with injuries to his face. He was transported to Williamsburg Sentara Hospital.

After further investigation, Deputy W. Johnston identified Walls as the other person involved in the fight. Walls was arrested later that day on a warrant for malicious wounding and was transported to Henrico Jail East, where he was held without bond.

Edwards was also arrested on charges of assault and battery and transported to Henrico Jail East. He was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.

Walls and Edwards are scheduled to appear in New Kent County General District Court on Jan. 7.
