Richmond residents involved in unrelated New Kent County thefts

NEW KENT – Two Richmond residents have been arrested in unrelated thefts in New Kent County.

Sharod Nathaniel Blakey

Sharod Nathaniel Blakey, 31, was arrested on October 16 around 4 p.m. on an outstanding warrant for grand larceny in New Kent County.

According to the New Kent Sheriff's Office, Blakey allegedly stole two HVAC units from a residence off Vaidens Pond Road on April 21.

Blakey was served the warrant on October 15 and was held at Henrico Jail East on a $5,000 secured bond.

He appeared in New Kent County Circuit Court on Monday, October 21. His trial was set for December 9 at 1 p.m.

Melissa Dawn Miffleton

Melissa Dawn Miffleton, 27, was arrested on October 17 around 1 p.m. on an outstanding warrant, and charged with burglary (during the daytime) and petit larceny from a home off Dispatch Road in New Kent.

According to the New Kent County Sheriff's Office, the residence was burglarized on August 9, during the daytime hours, and "only a small item was taken."

Based on physical evidence located at the scene and Miffleton's statement, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Miffleton was arrested on October 17 and taken to Henrico Jail East, where she was served and held on a $2,500 bond.

Her case was reviewed in New Kent County General District Court on October 18 and continued until November 26 at 1:30 p.m.
