Surf & Turf Outdoor Sports burglarized, Pennsylvania man arrested

NEW KENT – A Pennsylvania man has been arrested for burglarizing an Eltham business.

On Dec. 1 around 7 p.m., the New Kent Sheriff's Office arrested Shevinah Purnel Johnson, 18, for burglarizing Surf & Turf Outdoor Sports in Eltham, and charged him with burglary with intent to commit larceny.

The incident occurred after the store's alarm sounded. The sheriff's office arrived at Surf & Turf, located at 18501 Eltham Road, and found that it had been burglarized.

After speaking with local citizens, deputies located Johnson at the Washington Burgess Motel nearby.

Johnson was arrested and transported to Henrico Jail East, and was served a warrant for burglary.

Johnson was held on a $2,000 secured bond and was scheduled to appear in New Kent General District Court on Dec. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
