Quinton man arrested for attempted burglary at local business

NEW KENT – A Quinton man was arrested after attempting to break into a local business.

Gary Tyler Dowell, 19, was arrested on October 10 and charged with attempted burglary, after surveillance showed that Dowell tried to gain access into Tony's High Performance in Providence Forge earlier that morning.

The New Kent County Sheriff's Office received a phone call around 6:30 a.m. reporting that a suspicious person, later identified as Dowell, was in the area of Route 60 and Route 618.

Dowell was arrested for attempted burglary, and transported to Henrico Jail East, where warrants were obtained and served.

Dowell was released on a $1,500 secured bond and faced New Kent County General District Court on Tuesday, October 15.
