Law enforcement conducts a raid on the smoke shops, High Tyde and Lutie's Lair, on Route 17 in Gloucester. The raids were related to the sale of illicit synthetic drugs.

For the second time in less than a year two Gloucester smoke shops were raided by law enforcement officer for the sales of illicit synthetic drugs such as spice.

High Tyde Trading & Tobacco in Gloucester Point and Lutie's Lair Martial Arts Equipment in Hayes were raided about 10 a.m. on Thursday by a multi-jurisdiction law enforcement task force led by the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office.

Last year, A Lil of This N That on Crab Thicket Road and Hazy Dayz on Route 17 were raided and shut down and a dozen people were arrested. Those businesses were raided over the sales of spice and bath salts.

Sheriff Darrell Warren said more details will be made public later Thursday afternoon.
