To the Editor:
Look at the following statistics from the year 2011 on how many people die every year and the causes:
• Six thousand died from handguns
• 12,000 died from drunk drivers
• 728 died from fist and feet
• 496 died from bats and hammers
• 1,694 died from knives.
It has been estimated by The Journal of Patient's Safety that somewhere between 222,000 and 444,000 people will die in 2014 due to medical malpractice or other oversights.
From this we can draw two conclusions: twice as many people die from drunk drivers than handguns and you are somewhere between 841 and 1,363 times more likely to die from Obamacare than by a rifle.
So, do you really feel that sick?
