'100 Men in Ties' celebration to be held at Angel Visit Baptist Church


DUNNSVILLE — "100 Men in Ties: Dressed to Praise the Lord" will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at 3:30 p.m. at Angel Visit Baptist Church, 29566 Tidewater Trail in Dunnsville.

The program will be a celebration of the tradition of men dressed in their finest for church. Featured artists for ?100 Men in Ties,? The Soul Seekers of Mechanicsville, will present a concert of traditional gospel music. The Soul Seekers began their music ministry fifty years ago, and have had the privilege of sharing the stage with gospel greats such as Tramaine Hawkins, Donnie McClurkin, and Shirley Caesar.

There will be a parade of ties with a competition. Prizes will be given for categories such as the largest tie, the most colorful tie, and the most unusual tie, be it a necktie, bow tie, or ascot. Women are encouraged to support the program by wearing a tie, creatively including a tie in their attire, or just attending. Refreshments will be served.
