Although parades are not my favorite part of the theme-park experience, there have been moments within them that made me smile. It's a shame that I need a time machine (or, in some cases, YouTube) to relive several of them.
•I don't recall seeing a Disney parade during childhood vacations, so I was an adult when one first inspired awe. The Tapestry of Nations presentation got me with gigantic drums and the funky and gangly puppets moving through Epcot's World Showcase. Although, one time watching it go downhill from the International Gateway bridge to United Kingdom pavilion made my mind go to that runaway-parade melee place.
•This was so weird, it almost feels like it didn't happen. It was a daytime Easter parade at Magic Kingdom. Here at Theme Park Rangers World Headquarters, we refer to it as "The Very Curious Easter Parade." I remember "Rocky Top" playing. I remember Chip and Dale having mustaches, although cast members were prohibited from having facial hair at the time. And I remember live dogs on leashes walking down Main Street. What?

•At Disney's Hollywood Studios, I was fond of the trampoline acts in Block Party Bash, but it always felt like a workers' comp situation waiting to happen, particularly in the heat of summer.
•A few years ago, the Christmastime parade at Magic Kingdom included rows and rows of gals in shorty Santa suits banging away on glockenspiels. It was very Rockette. At least we still have our tin solders clomping through the holiday season.
