Visitors to Monterey, Calif., can experience an old-fashioned holiday tradition at a savings by purchasing their tickets by Thursday.
Christmas in the Adobes will return Dec. 6 and 7. That’s when 23 historic adobe buildings throughout Monterey’s historic downtown will glow with candlelight and luminarias.
From 5 to 9 p.m. both days, living history portrayers, festive decorations and holiday music will welcome guests at the various 19th century buildings that comprise Monterey State Historic Park. Visitors to the Robert Louis Stevenson House can nosh on cookies while listening to bagpipe music. At Custom House, fandango lessons will be offered.
Through the end of October, tickets cost $20 per adult. After that, they’ll cost $25. They’re available online and at the Cooper-Molera Museum Store, 525 Polk St., Monterey. Children ages 6-17 are admitted for $2 with a paying adult.
