Why do you keep fit?
My focus is on being as physically fit as I can be. Being in the business I'm in, you have to be mentally sharp every morning.
My goal is to live a healthy lifestyle with as low body fat as I possibly can have, by working out and eating healthy every day.
What's your workout routine?
I train seven days a week, getting to the gym at 3:45 in morning. Training starts 4:15.
I train with a pro trainer, Manny Mair, who has a private gym in Coral Springs, five days a week, and do cardio twice a week [without him].
Monday to Friday my training is 90 minutes: 30 minutes elliptical, 60 of weight training that focuses on my legs, shoulders, arms, midsection. I do a lot of core training. Many of the exercises are out of the box…
Saturdays I do a full-body workout at a gym in Boca. I do cardio on the elliptical every day but stretch it out on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Does your family keep fit?
My wife, Dana, lives a lifestyle similar to mine. She does Pilates five days a week, cardio every day. My daughter, Sophia, is very active. … We monitor her eating habits, make sure she eats as healthy as possible. No fatty food, fried food, fast food. We want to develop healthy eating habits. Childhood obesity is a major issue across the country.
Do you have a personal fitness mantra?
"Anything is possible." You set goals in the gym, anything is possible if you put your mind to it and you're committed.
My life mantra is: "Dream big and don't fear to fail."
What's your diet?
I start the day at 3:30 with egg whites wrapped in a non-fat, no-carb wrap. When I come in the office, I have a homemade remedy of oatmeal with cinnamon and raisins. Mid-morning I eat an energy bar. Lunch might be sweet potato and salmon or sweet potato salad. Mid-afternoon is a snack combo of cashews with no salt and fruit or another energy bar. For dinner, fish or chicken with healthy vegetables.
Eating healthy balances what you do in the gym.
I cheat with frozen yogurt on the weekends. My daughter loves it and my wife likes it, so the three of us indulge.
