The Toyota Highlander is not a minivan. It's used much the same way but lacks the convenience of sliding doors, easy ingress and egress, and easily accessible rear seats — all sacrificed for a self-conscious stigma. But the cost of cool is negligible and the marketplace has voted overwhelmingly in favor of SUVs over minivans.

A lot has been said about the 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage, most of it bad. “If this car wasn’t disappointing, it wouldn’t be anything at all,” said the New York Times. Even Consumer Reports called it a “dreadful little hatchback.”
