Pumpkin bread is hot! So is pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake ....
The weather might still say summer on some days, but cooler winds are indicating a turn of the calendar and fall mode.
To slake that pumpkin thirst, we scoured the L.A. Times archives. Click through the photo gallery above -- you'll find recipes links embedded in the pop-up captions -- and you'll find our best and favorite pumpkin recipes.
We've got favorites like a spiced pumpkin bread with walnuts and currants, as well as a pumpkin bread baked up fresh at the Monastery of the Angels in Hollywood that you might call downright heavenly.
We've also got a pumpkin soup that you can serve in tiny roasted gourds (beat that, Martha Stewart!), as well as a pumpkin pie with brown-butter streusel, a recipe that comes to us from noted pastry chef Karen Hatfield.
What's your favorite way to enjoy pumpkin?
