A black Medal of Honor winner
A member of the 4th U.S. Colored Troops Infantry, Christian Fleetwood was stationed in Yorktown, where he attended Shiloh Baptist Church after its founding by refugee slaves. He is one of 10 black Civil War Medal of Honor winners with links to Hampton Roads.
