New Kent High School presents 'Anything Goes' Dec. 5-7

NEW KENT – New Kent High School Trojan Theatre, in collaboration with Astor College in Kent, England, will present the beloved Cole Porter musical "Anything Goes" on Dec. 5-7 @ 7 p.m.

"Anything Goes" follows the madcap antics of stowaway Billy Crocker aboard an ocean liner heading toLondon. Crocker is a is in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged. Crocker tries to win Harcourt's heart, with the help of nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin. The musical delights with such hits as "Anything Goes", "You're the Top," and "I Get a Kick Out of You."

Tickets, are $5 for students (with valid ID) and $7 in advance. Tickets at the door cost $10.

The show is produced by Susan Musselman and Christopher Russell, directed by Victoria Councill, assisted directed by Victoria Chamberlain, and choreographed by Stacey Cloke.

The vocal direction was handled by Michelle Edwards and the Music Director was Joseph Williams.

The music and lyrics for "Anything Goes" were written by Cole Porter, the original book was written by Guy Bolton and P.G. Wodehouse, Howard Lindsay, and Russell Crouse. The new book was written by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman.
