Selena Gomez giving up her starter home in the Valley

Selena Gomez, the 21-year-old pop star and actress, has listed her house in Tarzana for sale at $3.495 million.

The neo-traditional home sits on a flat acre behind gates. A blue stone patio with a fountain leads to the bay-window flanked red front door, which opens to a high-ceiling entry. The classic center hall leads to a dining room with coffered ceilings on one side and to the living room with a fireplace on the other.

The 6,630 square feet of living space on two stories includes a great room, a card room, a media room, a dressing area, six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. There's a guesthouse and a swimming pool.

Gomez released her first solo album, "Stars Dance," last year. The "Come & Get It" singer earlier recorded several albums as part of Selena Gomez & the Scene. She was on the television shows "Wizards of Waverly Place" (2007-12) and "Barney & Friends" (2002-04).

More recently Gomez starred in the films "Getaway" (2013) and "Rudderless" (2014). She will also star in the summer comedy "Behaving Badly."

Gomez bought the property in 2011 for $2.175 million, public records show, and remodeled and expanded the house by about 2,000 square feet.

She is selling because she purchased another home this year in Calabasas.

Craig Knizek of the Agency is the listing agent.

'Neighbors' star leaves 'hood

Zac Efron has sold his industrial-vibe home in Hollywood Hills West for $2.775 million.

Although designed for the Case Study Program by Rodney Walker, the house was built in 1947 outside the program. Features include walls of glass, two bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and 2,424 square feet of living space.

Corrugated metal surfaces and a three-sided fireplace add to the hip ambience. The concrete floors in the open-concept house are heated.

An infinity-edge swimming pool also sits on the nearly third of an acre lot.

Efron, 26, rose to teen stardom in the films "High School Musical" and "Hairspray," as well as the TV series "Summerland." He starred this year in "That Awkward Moment" and is in the new film "Neighbors." He was a presenter this year at the 86th Academy Awards.

The property was purchased in 2008 for $2.35 million, public records show.

Kathrin Nicholson of the Agency in Beverly Hills was the listing agent. Geri Berger of Rodeo Realty represented the buyer.

Coach levels his playing field

Did Mike Dunleavy Sr. act too soon when he sold his Century City condo for $6.95 million?

The retired NBA player and former Lakers and Clippers coach recently interviewed to replace former Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni. He might need a place in proximity to Staples Center, the airport and the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.

But he's also been meeting with the New York Knicks to talk about their head coaching spot.
