Actor Esai Morales has sold his home in Hollywood Hills West for $1.175 million.

The Midcentury-style house, built in 1957, features vaulted wood-beam ceilings, skylights, French doors, two fireplaces, four bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,479 square feet of living space. A swimming pool sits in the backyard.

Morales, 50, played Lt. Tony Rodriguez on "NYPD Blue" (2001-04) and starred with Lou Diamond Phillips in "La Bamba" (1987). More recently he had a recurring role on "Fairly Legal" (2011-12).

He paid $749,000 for the property in 2000, public records show.

Thomas Magazeno of Coldwell Banker's Sunset Boulevard office was the listing agent. Boni Bryant of Sotheby's Los Feliz office represented the buyer.

British Invasion singer Eric Burdon, who sang with the Animals and then the funk band War, has listed his retreat in Joshua Tree for sale at $999,000.

The Southwestern-style gated house, built in 2007, sits on 2.5 acres surrounded by native plants and encircled by an adobe wall. The 3,200-square-foot-plus courtyard-style home features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a laundry room and an office. There is a studio with a wood-burning stove. Outdoor amenities include a heated saltwater pool, a spa and a rooftop deck.

Burdon, 71, was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the 100 greatest singers of all time and is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Among the songs he popularized were "House of the Rising Sun," "We've Gotta Get Out of This Place," "Spill the Wine" and "See See Rider."

He paid $640,000 for the property in 2007, public records show.
