Kim Kardashian's bikini flaunting her baby bump has been squarely placed on the cover of this week's Us Weekly. Apparently this is the story that will have people grabbing for the mag in grocery store checkout aisles.
The cover photo showcases the pregnant reality TV starlet ambling on a Grecian beach. She's wearing a stringy two-piece while she and her family were vacationing on the island of Mykonos in late April to film their E! show "Keeping Up With the Kardashian." The 32-year-old, due in July, is baring her growing belly and the cover bears this headline: "You Call This Fat?"
As if she weren't one of the most scrutinized celebrities before, Kanye West's girlfriend can definitely add this to her case.
The sex-tape-maker-turned-businesswoman has been struggling with weight issues and typical swollen feet during her "painful pregnancy," but the mag says she's "decided not just to embrace her curves but also to show them off." And somehow, the self-proclaimed perfectionist seems liberated and proud in the pic. Though we would too if we didn't think there were a paparazzo lurking around the corner, so who knows if that was intentional, because Kardashian has mostly spoken about how difficult this pregnancy has been.
"I struggle finding things that don't make me look heavy," she blogged early in her pregnancy, later telling Ryan Seacrest that pregnancy wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
"I was waiting for this amazing experience where I can just do whatever I want, eat whatever I want, feel great. And it just hasn't been great," Kim said. "I'm just in a lot of pain everywhere. It's a really painful thing. I'm in pain, physically."
Kardashian, who recently ended her infamous 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries, and her family posted loads of photos from the trip, and she's no stranger to being accused of exhibitionism, but somehow this bikini photo achieves a much more in-your-face quality than the innocent selfies the Kardashian clan shared.
She more intentionally flaunted her pregnancy curves earlier this week when she stepped out at the Met Gala on Monday wearing a floral print Givenchy gown that looked more suitable for grandma's living room sofa than a red carpet.
The gown designer, Riccardo Tisci, a close friend of West, defended his decision to dress Kardashian the way he did because he wanted to celebrate his good friend's "future wife" and "have a Kim Kardashian moment" because she always supports him.
"I have dressed many pregnant women in the past. People can say what they want. To me, pregnancy is the most beautiful thing in the world, and when you celebrate something, you give people flowers," Tisci told Women's Wear Daily. "I think she looked amazing. She was the most beautiful pregnant woman I dressed in my career."
