10 years of iPods
In October 2001, Apple introduced iPod, a digital music player with a distinctive white body and headphones. In the 10 years since, the company says it has sold hundreds of millions of the devices. Below, some milestones in the evolution of the most popular digital music player.

2003: Steve Jobs introduces the new iPod, with 10 to 40 gigabytes of storage. The iTunes Music Store is also introduced, with 200,000 songs at 99¢ each. Apple sells 1 million songs in its first week.
