Lady Gaga has found a new way to get around Chicago ever since it was revealed she was canceling the rest of her tour due to a major hip injury.
Starbucks assistant manager Sarah Warner confirmed that the pop mega star visited the Starbucks at 444 N. Michigan Avenue Saturday in a wheelchair. Gaga was wearing a large hat and glasses and went unrecognized, for the most part, until a group of kids arrived, according to Warner. That same day, Gaga tweeted a photo of what looks like a wheelchair with the caption “This is Emma.”
Gaga's boyfriend, Taylor Kinney, is scheduled to film NBC's "Chicago Fire" in Chicago through April.
On Wednesday, Gaga met 5-year-old fan Kayleigh Gurzynski in a Chicago hotel. Gurzynski -- who was born with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome and Turner syndrome -- came down from the Milwaukee area to meet Gaga -- whose shows last Wednesday and Thursday at the United Center were among those canceled. (Melissa Persike, Gurzynski's mother, confirmed the meeting to the Tribune.)
"I read about Kayleigh's wish more than a month ago on Reddit," said Shervin Pishevar, a friend of Lady Gaga's manager, Troy Carter, who helped facilitate the meeting. "I went to her Facebook page and contacted her mom. … I then contacted Gaga's manager and he agreed to set up a backstage meeting at her Chicago concert. When the concert was canceled, Gaga still went ahead with the meeting. … Kayleigh was so happy her dream came true."
