Murs
Rapper Murs comes to Abbey Pub for "The Road to Paid Dues" show, bringing a bit of the Paid Dues hip-hop festival to town. And his style fits the mold of rappers who have graced the lineup of Paid Dues festivals: MCs and DJs from the underground hip-hop scene who are the diamonds excavated from the pop-heavy rap world.
Why go: Paid Dues no longer makes a stop in Chicago, so we recommend hearing these artists when you can; they are hard to find on a Google search. Reconsider: You'd rather go see Paid Dues performer Talib Kweli (a DJ set) at The Shrine Friday. 9 p.m. Friday at Abbey Pub, 3420 W. Grace St.; $16-$18 (21+); 773-478-4408, abbeypub.com |
