"Night of the Living Dead"
Worldwide Gross: $30 million
To keep costs low on the set of this 1968 horror classic, the film was shot in black-and-white 35mm, zombie makeup was fashioned out of mortician's wax, and Bosco's chocolate syrup was used for blood. As for the zombie-consumed human flesh, director George Romero chose to use ham. Budget-savvy and tasty too!
