12:30 p.m.: The Engines: Trombonist Jeb Bishop returns to Chicago to collaborate with saxophonist Dave Rempis, drummer Tim Daisy and bassist Nate McBride in this experimental quartet. Jazz and Heritage Pavilion.

2:20 p.m.: Evan Christopher: A sublime New Orleans musician, Christopher is part of an important wave of clarinetists – including Anat Cohen, Victor Goines and Don Byron – who are reintroducing listeners to the instrument's melodic allure. Von Freeman Pavilion.

6:10 p.m.: Hamid Drake and Bindu: The Chicago percussionist closes his tenure as artist-in-residence with an exploration of reggae music in a band that includes trombonists Jeb Bishop and Jeff Albert, guitarist Jeff Parker and guest vibraphonist Jason Adasiewicz. Pritzker Pavilion.

7:25 p.m.: Robert Glasper Trio: A breath of fresh air in the world of jazz pianism, Glasper tosses aside conventions of small-group jazz improvisation to create brilliantly elusive solos and delicate interchange among musicians. Pritzker Pavilion.

8:45 p.m.: Donald Harrison: The accomplished New Orleans alto saxophonist celebrates both jazz and Mardi Gras Indian traditions with his Congo Square Nation, which on this night will include Chicago jazz piano master Willie Pickens. Pritzker Pavilion.
