XXXX = Must-see sets

XXXX 8:30 p.m., Björk (G): The Icelandic maverick’s latest album, “Biophilia” (2011), is a multimedia project that transformed her into the world’s wiggiest science teacher. She rarely plays it safe in concert, either.

7:20 p.m., Joanna Newsom (R): Virtuoso harpist with an eccentric voice and elaborate fairytale songs. A fitting match for Bjork.

XXXX 6:25 p.m., Wire (G): U.K. postpunks released three revolutionary albums in the ‘70s, took a hiatus, and are now back in high gear, caustic and cutting as ever.

6:15 p.m., Mikal Cronin (B): Ty Segall’s right-hand man in the San Francisco garage-punk scene brings the acid-dipped tunes on his second solo album, “MCII.”

5:30 p.m., Woods (R): The Brooklyn folk-rockers are now seven albums deep into a career that mines the spookiest corners of traditional music.

XXXX 5:15 p.m., Angel Olsen (B): A glistening voice and stripped-down songs bring the drama at its most intimate.

4:35 p.m., Mac DeMarco (G): This Canadian singer-songwriter plays it slapdash and low-fi on record, but can get boisterous and lewd on stage. R. Kelly may not be the only singer getting explicit in Union Park this weekend.

XXXX 4:15 p.m., Trash Talk (B): The interracial California hardcore band put out an album last year on the Odd Future hip-hop collective’s label.

XXXX 3:30 p.m., Daughn Gibson (R): The Pennsylvanian sings with baritone authority and spreads desolate atmosphere over eerie electro-beats.

3:20 p.m., Frankie Rose (B): A former member of Vivian Girls, Dum Dum Girls and Crystal Stilts, the singer is now carving out a distinctive pop persona on her solo albums.
