There's more time for Disney at the Museum of Science and Industry.
The exhibition "Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives," which blends Disney artifacts and the Chicago-born animator's life story, has been extended at the South Side museum through Jan. 4, 2015, the institution announced Wednesday.
Officials cited the show's popularity as the reason for the extension, the second since it went up last October. It was originally scheduled to end in May of this year.
Crafted by the museum, the Disney Archives and D23, the official fan club, "Treasures" includes artifacts ranging from Disney's artwork at McKinley High School to a Captain Jack Sparrow costume from "Pirates of the Caribbean." It can be seen by buying the Explorer ticket package at the museum, 5700 S. Lake Shore Drive.
