A swarm of TV zombies has overwhelmed newly released movies. In its first week in release, the third season of the AMC series "The Walking Dead" was the top-selling DVD and Blu-ray title, beating film titles "The Great Gatsby" and "Pain & Gain."

"The Great Gatsby," directed by Baz Luhrmann, was the No. 2 rental, while "Pain & Gain," the Michael Bay-directed movie about a trio of bodybuilders who get involved in a crime scheme that goes terribly wrong, came in third place.

Fox's animated fantasy film "Epic," which was the bestseller for the previous week, fell to fourth place.
